Add plants to your Palette
Updated this week

Add plants

To actually add plants to a Palette, you will navigate away from the Palettes page and move to the plant search. Now that you have a Palette, you'll need to make sure it’s selected as you find the plants you want to add to it.

Once you are on the plant search page, double check a few things before you start adding plants.

First, on the far left, make sure the Palette for "Zone 5 Perennials & Shrubs" is selected. You'll know if you are in the right place if the banner is bright orange (for Palettes) and "Zone 5 Perennials & Shrubs" is the text in the banner. If the banner is green or another Palette is chosen, simply click the button for "Palette".

Now you can use the plant search to find all the plants you want to add to this Palette.

For this example, click on the filter for “Zone” and select “Zone 5” in the left side menu under “Filter by”.

Next, expand the Anatomy Filter and select Shrubs & Perennials for the Plant Type.

Your search results will indicate the filters you’ve selected.

If you want ALL plants that are shrubs and perennials in Zone 5, select the “Add Current Results” in the left side menu. This will add all 3,954 plants to your Palette.

Or, if you want to select specific plants, click on the circle located in the top right corner of each plant picture.

View the plants in your Palette

Once you've added all the plants you want in this Palette, you can view them by heading back to the Palettes page.
