Build a Plant Schedule
Updated this week

Find the Plant Schedule section

Log in to your PlantMaster account and open the project you want to work on.

Inside your project, click on the “Build” button in the project navigation bar located on the far left. Then, close to the top of your screen, make sure you are in the first tab, titled "Plant Schedule".

Here is what it will look like when you already have plants in the project, but you have not assigned sizes or quantities. Notice the quantity is set to 1, and the size has not been set.

Everything you can add to your plant schedule.

The plant schedule is essentially an online spreadsheet that you can edit. Here is all the plant information you can add/change in your plant schedule:

Plant Code:

Update your plant code to anything you like in this text field. If you change the plant code, it will ONLY apply to this project. If you want to change the plant code for EVERY instance of the plant, you'll need to open the plant record and change the code there.

Plant Type:

If you are planning to prune a tree and use it as a shrub, or the plant type doesn't seem accurate for this job - you can update the plant type for the project as well. This will override the plant type for this project ONLY. If you want to update the plant type for EVERY instance of the plant, please open the plant record and make the change there.

Container Size:

This is where you can choose the container size for each plant. We recommend that you take a few extra minutes and select the sizes you use most as favorites to make your work even easier.

Quantity:

Type in the total number of each plant at that particular size.

Remarks:

Type in your remarks or installation notes for each plant in this space.

Other Actions: (Far right column)

In the far right of the screen, you'll see a button for editing(where you can edit everything at once) and a small drop down with two additional choices:

Copy a Plant:

If you want to use the same plant at two different sizes, you can copy a plant from the plant schedule so you can update the plant size and quantity.

Remove a Plant:

If you decide you aren't going to use a plant in your design, you can remove it from the project in this space.

Set up your favorite sizes.

The name of the game is speed – you want to build your schedule quickly.

So, stop! Don’t just start entering quantities into the spreadsheet. The first thing you want to do is select your most used sizes.

At the top of the page, click on the button called “Sizes/Prices”. This button is located in the both plant budget and plant schedule sections. You can open and make changes from either section.

You will notice that nothing is selected and there are a ton of options (which can feel overwhelming). The next step is to start favoriting the sizes you use the most often in your projects. We recommend that you select 6-10 sizes, instead of worrying about every option.

The sizing options expand and contract just like the filters in the plant search. So use them to navigate to the container sizes you want. For this example, we will select “Gallon Sizes” first. Click on the downward arrow next to the name or the name itself to see all the gallon options.

Once you click on “Gallon Sizes” it should look like this.

To make a container size a “favorite”, simply click on the hollow star next the size. The star will change to a solid green color and now it’s a favorite! You’ll also see the size jump to the top of your modal and is now also listed under “Favorites”. We selected “1 Gallon”, “5 Gallon”, and “15 Gallon” for our favorites.

Next, we recommend that you find all your favorite sizes. We also selected “flat”, and “pint” for our favorites. It should look like this once you have selected your choices.

Send/Share your Plant Schedule

Once you're happy with your plant schedule, its time to send it off! In the top right of the page, click the button called "Print/Export". This will pull up all the output options like saving to a spreadsheet, sending a link, or creating a PDF. Then follow the steps to create your PDF!
