Want to give a brief description of each Area, share your notes about the space, or walk your client through your vision for it? Add a description to any Area, and it shows up in your presentations and PDF reports.
Add a description to an Area
Make sure you're in the Design section of your project, then go to the Areas tab.
Find the Area you want to work on and click the Edit button on the far right side of the page.
This will open a modal. Here you can add your description.
Make sure you click Save.
Repeat this for every Area you want to describe. You can update a description at any time.
IMPORTANT: Area Descriptions and Area Notes are two separate things.
Notes are for YOUR reference - you'll see them as one of the columns in your Areas list. Descriptions are for your CLIENT - you will need to add these from the Edit modal.
Where your client sees your Areas descriptions
Interactive Presentations
If you write a description for any Area, it's automatically included. You'll find it at the very top of the Areas tab, just above the collage of plant images.
Simple Presentations & Online Reports
Descriptions are automatically included here too. Each one appears as a paragraph at the start of each Area, on every report option.
PDF and Printed Reports
For PDFs, you can choose whether to include descriptions.
PDFs, by design, are a set page size, so it's challenging to find the exact space for unique descriptions for every Area. That's why you get the choice whether to include them. If you display the Area descriptions, PlantMaster will insert an extra page (or half page for larger document sizes) so your Area descriptions will properly fit.
To ensure your Areas descriptions show up on your PDFs, go to the Present section of your project and choose the PDF/Print tab.
Choose the report you want to send. This will pull up a modal window.
Make sure to select this two options:
Under Organize by, choose Group by Area.
Under More Options, check Show Area Descriptions.
Please Note: Each Area description takes up a full page in your PDF, or a half page on larger formats. If you print, please plan for the extra pages. If you don't want them, make sure this option is NOT checked.
This is a sample of what your Areas description would look like on an 8.5 x 11. As you can see, there is plenty of room to write a great explanation for your client!
