Setting up the plant sizes and prices you use most often will make building plant schedules much faster and more accurate.
This article walks you through how to select your most common container sizes and assign average prices for each one.
Why Use Sizes and Prices?
By saving your most-used container sizes as favorites, those sizes will always appear at the top of every list—no more scrolling through hundreds of options.
While you’re selecting your favorites, you can also set an average price for each size.
For example, if 1-gallon plants usually range from $8–15, you might set the average price at $12.
Even if you use other tools for budgeting, adding prices here allows PlantMaster to automatically track your plant costs as you fill out quantities in your plant schedules.
Set up your favorite sizes and prices.
Open the Sizes/Prices Window
First, go to My Account by clicking on your name in the top right corner.
Next, click on the second tab called "App Settings". This will open all your application settings.
The second item down is called "Set Sizes and Prices", click on the green button to open the Sizes/Prices modal.
This opens a modal where you can:
Set the average price for any container size
Mark the sizes you use most often as favorites
Choose Your Favorite Sizes
When the list appears, you’ll see many options (don’t worry—it’s normal!).
Expand or collapse sections the same way you do in the Plant Search filters.
For example, click “Gallon Sizes” to reveal all the gallon options.
Once you click on “Gallon Sizes” it should look like this.
To make a size a favorite, click the hollow star next to it.
When it turns solid green, it’s now marked as a favorite.
Favorited sizes move to the top of the list and appear under “Favorites.”
Pro Tip: Start with 6-10 of your most commonly used sizes (e.g., 1 Gallon, 5 Gallon, 15 Gallon...)
Add Average Prices
After selecting your favorites, return and add the average price for each size.
You can enter prices for any size, even if it’s not a favorite.
When you’re done, click “Save and Apply.”
Best Practices
You don’t need a price to mark a size as a favorite.
You can add or change prices anytime.
To remove a price, click the “x” next to it.
Updating a price only affects new projects — existing projects keep their original data.
If you change a size in an older project, it will pull the latest average price.
To remove a favorite, click the green star again.
By setting your preferred sizes and prices once, you’ll save time on every future project and gain a quick view of total plant costs as you design.
